As NYC slowly opens up to trucking solutions beyond landmotor trucks such as cycletrucks, boatrucks, bargetrucks, railtrucks, and even horse trucks, sourcing of legal options other than landmotor trucks remains challenging.

Hey Revolutionaries! Ready for some news you can use besides the Kiva microloan you’re funding to accelerate adoption in the marketplace of cycletruck systems (deadline for completion of funding – or not – Thursday 30 June 2022)?
As of late, we have had some great success during our recent partnership with FlexiModal and their ingenious BicyLift biketrailer and racy Runner biketrailer. (In fact, your microloan is finalizing funding of a large lease-to-own program for dozens of these trailers!)
An innovation for last mile delivery, the Bicylift combines the functionality of a pallet jack with the ease of use of a bike trailer. Especially when pulled by an live-electric bicycle, this system allows for unparalleled efficiency of logistics for short distance distribution of myriad products. The trailer system may feature Fleximodal’s optional cargo hold, which can be dropped easily from the trailer frame. For larger scale operations, the hold offers containerization for goods in a standardized size that may be managed by last mile cyclists; organizational layout and simplicity also may improve as a result, forklifts and jacks for transferring shipments become a thing of the past in many urban distribution centers. The trailer provides a substantial payload, excellent braking, and a pivoting attachment point for seamless connection to bike swingarms. Learn more here.
In other news cycle-related news, The NYC Department of Transportation recently authorized UPS to operate in the bike lanes of New York City four wheel motor vehicles with pedals added. Some bike lanes these days already become clogged, slowing or stopping non-commercial cyclists on standard bikes. The integration of new cycletrucking platforms into the cycling infrastructure is key to rationalization of citymile logistics and related services; however, these especially large and slow contraptions demand a new level of awareness given that they may force you pass them by riding in the car lanes. There is currently an effort to address the situation; nevertheless, whatever new challenges arise for cyclists: ride safe!
